Be The Change

Be The Change is set to be held on 27 September 2009 in The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur.

This event aims to raise awareness and to educate the public on the dire state of the environment, and to show what YOU can do to help preserve the environment.

Prior to the event, on 25 and 26 September 2009, there will be a two-day photo exhibition which is open to the public.

The photos that are displayed at the exhibition come from a photo competition starting from 19 August 2009 to 11 September 2009.

Stand the chance to win some amazing prizes by submitting your photograph to us showcasing environmental issues that Malaysia faces these days.

Photographs can be of any topic concerning the environment, be it the haze, the floods, deforestation etc. Surprise us.

A panel of judges will be selecting a Top 10 of all the photographs submitted and the winner will be announced during the Be The Change event on 27 September 2009 in Concourse, the Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur.

Photo competition is CLOSED

The Be The Change photo competition is now closed, please do not send in any entries anymore.

We have received some wonderful pictures on environmental issues, thank you to everyone who participated!

The judges are now looking through your pictures and will be selecting a Top 10 soon.

Please keep an eye on your e-mail inbox as we will send out e-mails tomorrow (16 September) requesting for high resolution pictures of the ones that we will exhibit in The Gardens mall on the 25th to the 27th of September.

Although the photo competition is now closed, you can still win exclusive invites to the Be The Change event on 27 September 2009.

If you'd like to hear what the Greenest Man on the Planet, Matthias Gelber, has to say about the environmental issues right here in Malaysia and make an environmental pledge with local celebrities, then this is the place to do just that.

Be The Change photo competition


Stand a chance to win part of over RM 12,000 in prizes! Simply submit photographs on environmental issues in Malaysia, taken within the last 5 years and email it to us at promotions@hotpotato.com.my.

Photographs can be of any topic concerning the environment, be it the haze, the floods, the balding forests etc.

HOW TO ENTER:
  1. This contest is open to all residents in Malaysia.
  2. Entrants may send in as many entries as they wish.
  3. All photographs submitted must have been taken in Malaysia over the last five years (no images taken before August 2004 are eligible).
  4. Entries must be submitted via e-mail to promotions@hotpotato.com.my with a file size up to 2 MB. (We recommend that photos are taken at a resolution of 5 megapixels and above). Please note that entrants may be required to provide a 20" x 30" image on CD (jpeg or tiff format) upon request.
  5. All entries must be submitted with the following information: photographer's name and I/C number, title of the photo, location of the photo taken, date/year of the photo taken and contact number.
  6. Entries submitted will not be returned to the entrants.
  7. All photographs should be clear of watermarks for fair judging purposes.
  8. Entrants whose entries are selected as the Top 10 Finalists are required to be present at the Be The Change event in the Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur on 27 September 2009 for the final judging and/or prize presentation.

  1. Photographs that have previously won photo competitions, or have been published in a national publication, or have been sold to any party for reproduction are not allowed to enter the contest.
  2. All photographs submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and entrants must warrant that they own the copyright of it.
  3. Should your photograph feature any person or people, make sure that they are aware of being photographed and permission should be obtained from all involved.
  4. By entering this competition, each entrant grants Hot Potato Publishing Sdn Bhd permission to feature any or all images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.
  5. Photographs are not allowed to be photoshopped.
